Another fantastic Easter Egg Hunt happened on Saturday, April 4th, at 10am. The Columbiettes in tandem with the Knights put together a great set of entertainment for everyone who turned out. There was coffee and an assortment of juices for adults and kids alike, twinned with a choice of munchin donuts that would have fed an army! Earlier in the morning, the Columbiettes had teamed with a large group of very energetic older kids who helped set everything up, getting tables in place and strategically placing eggs throughout the field behind the school. Once it came time for the Egg Hunt, children were quickly on the search and each child returned with plenty of eggs and a very happy smile on their face.
I would like to thank everyone who volunteered their time over the Easter period, including the flower sale, the washing of the feet, the cleaning of the Church, the purchasing of the food, the Easter Egg Hunt, and many other activities. They helped make it a very special Easter for young and old alike!
On Saturday evening, March 14th 2026, about 120 people gathered at Our Lady of Fatima’s School Gym to celebrate St. Patricks Day in style. The evening kicked off with Fr. Pawel giving an Irish Blessing before the food was served. O’Neills pub in Norwalk once again provided the Irish food, corn beef with cabbage, mash and a choice of vegetables. Immediately after that, dessert was served, with the Village Market providing two very large trays of Brownies and Chocolate Chip Cookies, and Tony Boucher also provided some Cookies – needless to say, we were only counting crumbs at the end. There was then a draw for the children and each child was given a toy that was provided by the “Wild Child” shop in Wilton. It put a smile on every childs face and was hugely appreciated. We then had a draw for the Adults and some fantastic prizes were won by a lot of people, with prizes ranging from $25 to $160 in vouchers that were provided by some very generous businesses that I have named below. Once the draws were completed, everyone was treated to some great Irish dancing provided by the Mulkerin School of Irish Dance. To cap it off, they brought the children up on the stage at the end and involved them in a traditional Irish Dance which they loved! It made everyone extremely happy to see the kids so involved in the event. Thanks must be given to everyone involved – to all the businesses who supported us, to the Knights and the Columbiettes who helped organise and run the event, and to the Parish who turned out in big numbers to enjoy themselves and support a great cause at the same time. Míle buíochas!!!!!!!!

Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit! A toast to good cheer and coziness!
The 2024-2025 fiscal year has been a fantastic success for our Our Lady of Fatima, Knights of Columbus Council 12698 – we have held some amazing events with help from our sisters the Columbiettes, as well as helping them with their events. In addition, we have raised a lot of money for programs such as “Coats for Kids”, ran a very successful fundraiser with our annual St. Patrick’s Day Event, with the funds being used for good causes such as First Aid Kits for Our Lady of Fatima Church and The Growing for Good charitable garden. We have participated in projects via Assembly 100, Keep Christ in Christmas, and many others. To help expand our Faith, we organised two Masses and Rosaries which were open to everyone to attend and participate.
One of our biggest achievements though is that our team participation has significantly increased over the year. Meetings and Events are well attended, and there is no shortage of volunteers when needed, such as helping Fr. Reggie with his move to his new Parish.
I am also delighted to announce that we had 4 new joiners this year, which helped with all our initiatives. We look forward to Steven Dzik, Brad Wolf, Mark Drumer and Brian Dinkelacker’s participation for the full year in 2025-2026 and the energy they will bring to our team.
Additionally, I would like to give a huge thanks to Peter Slavin who has recently transferred to another Council closer to his new home. Peter has filled many roles over a very long period with our Council, including Grand Knight and Field Agent. Our Council would not be what it is without Peter’s involvement, and I hope he knows that he can come join us at any time, no invites needed. Good luck Peter in your next adventure – we wish you the best!
All of this has been accomplished by a great team of Officers and Service Personnel. It gives me great pleasure to announce our 2025-26 team – congratulations to you all! Pictures for each Officer can be found by clicking here.
Firstly, I hope you all had a very happy easter and that the resurrection of Christ brought you and your family peace and joy as you rejoiced in the miracle of Easter, surrounded by the love of family, the warmth of friendship, and the blessings of faith.
I also want to thank all the Knights and our sister Columbiettes who volunteered and participated in the Easter Activities over the weekend. What a fantastic effort to get everything just right, from the cleaning of the Church, the beautiful flowers that were added by the Columbiettes, the washing of the feet, the preparations for the Easter Egg Hunt, the joy on the children’s faces, and the beautiful Easter Vigil Service by Fr. Pawel. I hope you all had a great Easter!
